Board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA), Dr. Billy Hans Ford, M.D. is also specialized in pain management. Dr. Ford graduated from Princeton University in 1983 and obtained his MD degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York in 1987. Following his internship at the Montefiore Medical Center, he received training in Ambulatory Anesthesia at the Massachusetts General Hospital, before completing his residency at the Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Subsequently, he completed fellowship training in Pediatric Anesthesia, and then in Pain Management. A Diplomat from National Board of Medical Examiners licensed in New York, New Jersey, he is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), New York State Society of Anesthesiologists (NYSSA) and International Spine Intervention Society (ISIS).

Dr. Ford was also a part of Operation Smile, Medical Mission to Kenya - a medical program conducted to provide reconstructive facial surgery to indigent children and young adults. He spent two weeks in Kenya providing anesthesia services primarily to children who required cleft lip and cleft palate repairs. He also took part in Haiti Earthquake relief efforts in January 2010. He explains it as an experience that was heartfelt; gratifying; emotionally and physically taxing; one that will remain close to the heart.

During 1982-1983, Dr. Ford was the Chairman of Imhotep Society, Princeton's Minority Pre-Health Professional Society and Member of Projects Board, Undergraduate Student Government and Board of Directors, Third World Center. He became the Vice President (1983-1984) of Albert Einstein Chapter and was the National President-Elect (1984-1985) and National President (1985-1986) at the Student National Medical Association. He was Member of Kings County Hospital Medical Board and Alternate Delegate at the New York State Society of Anesthesiologists (1995-1996). He was the Director of Hospital Wide Conscious Sedation and Ambulatory Surgery Unit (PAT), Co-Chair of Pain Management Committee as well as the Member of Medical Board, Hospital QA Committee and Blood Bank Committee at St. Barnabas Hospital during 2001-1/2011. During the same period, he became Member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and was a Board Member at the Foundation for Sight & Sound from 10/2011-10/12.
